Worked on the bufbuild/protovalidate repository to address licensing compliance in generated protobuf files, focusing on ensuring correct copyright headers for edition 2023. Upgraded the Buf build tool from version 1.61 to 1.66 within the Makefile, which resolved a bug affecting header emission in generated .proto outputs. Used Go and build automation skills to pin the Buf version, enabling consistent and reproducible code generation across development and CI environments. Validated that no regressions were introduced in generated artifacts, improved repository hygiene, and documented the process thoroughly to support future upgrades and audits, thereby reducing build and audit risks.
