During the month, contributed to the dropwizard/dropwizard repository by focusing on backend reliability and observability through targeted logging improvements. Addressed a bug affecting access logging for Jetty-rejected paths by integrating Logback and refactoring the LogbackAccessRequestLog component. The work involved correctly wrapping Jetty requests and responses to ensure accurate header capture, while also removing a legacy adapter previously used for header map construction. These changes streamlined the logging pipeline, reduced maintenance complexity, and improved the ability to triage and debug rejected requests. The engineering effort centered on Java and backend development, with a strong emphasis on robust logging practices.
