Worked on the dropwizard/dropwizard repository to deliver both a configuration compatibility update and a bug fix within a one-month period. Addressed library deprecation by updating the LevenshteinDistance instantiation in the dropwizard-configuration module, replacing the deprecated constructor with getDefaultInstance to ensure alignment with newer library versions. Additionally, resolved a header parsing issue by enforcing ASCII encoding in ByteRange parsing, which improved cross-platform reliability and reduced encoding-related errors. Demonstrated backend development and dependency management skills using Java, with a focus on maintaining precise commit traceability and delivering changes that facilitate smoother upgrades and more consistent deployments across environments.
