Joshua Coombs developed automated RBAC Permissions Validation Tests for the fecgov/fecfile-web-api repository, focusing on verifying the correct enforcement of role-based access control across realistic production scenarios. Using Python and backend development skills, Joshua implemented scenario-based validation to expand test coverage and reduce the risk of permission regressions. The approach included CI-ready scripting and targeted scenario C99999997, ensuring that permissions were accurately validated and misconfigurations could be detected early. Although no major bugs were addressed during this period, the work enhanced the security posture of the application and increased release confidence by enabling faster remediation of potential access control issues.
