During January 2025, Kachel Kaiser enhanced German localization across the jellyfin/jellyfin and jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv repositories, focusing on accessibility for German-speaking users. Using XML and Weblate, Kachel implemented end-to-end translation workflows, ensuring traceable and maintainable updates. The work increased German translation coverage in Jellyfin Android TV to 99.8 percent, while also integrating German language support into the Jellyfin core. Emphasizing localization and translation skills, Kachel coordinated changes across multiple repositories without addressing bug fixes, prioritizing readiness and user onboarding. The depth of the work lay in establishing robust i18n practices and streamlining future translation updates for both projects.
