Worked on the bcgov/EDUC-GRAD-STUDENT-API repository to deliver a payload enrichment feature that adds the student’s grade to the GradStudentRecordPayload, ensuring this information is transmitted end-to-end via the GRAD_STUDENT_API_FETCH_GRAD_STUDENT_TOPIC. Focused on backend and API development using Java, the implementation included updating and expanding unit tests to verify grade propagation and integration with downstream consumers. This approach improved data fidelity and accuracy for analytics and reporting, while maintaining stable releases with no reported critical defects. The work emphasized robust messaging and thorough test coverage, reducing regression risk and supporting reliable data flow across connected systems.
