Worked on the justeattakeaway/pie repository to deliver Rich Text Descriptions for the cookie banner, focusing on secure handling of user-facing content. Implemented support for HTML anchor tags in cookie banner category descriptions, using DOMPurify to sanitize input and prevent XSS vulnerabilities. Updated the rendering logic within Lit-based Web Components to accommodate these enhancements and ensure accurate display in the preferences modal. Comprehensive test coverage was established, including unit, component, and visual tests, to validate both sanitization and rendering. This work improved localization flexibility and user experience while maintaining a strong emphasis on frontend security and robust TypeScript development practices.
