Worked on security maintenance for the GSA/Challenge_platform repository, focusing on reducing vulnerability exposure through targeted dependency management. Addressed a known security issue by upgrading Ruby on Rails from version 7.2.2 to 7.2.2.1, ensuring the application remained compliant with current security standards. Updated both the Gemfile and Gemfile.lock to reflect the new Rails version, thereby improving overall dependency hygiene. Utilized Ruby and Ruby on Rails as core technologies, applying security patching best practices throughout the process. The work centered on maintaining a secure codebase rather than feature development, demonstrating a methodical approach to ongoing application security and stability.
