Worked on the openai/codex repository to deliver the Codex Turn Events Workspace Kind Field feature, enabling analytics on user adoption of Codex for knowledge work beyond coding. Developed backend logic in Rust to introduce and propagate the workspace_kind field from the Responses API client through to the analytics layer, ensuring accurate serialization within codex_turn_event. Focused on robust API integration and data analytics instrumentation, the implementation allows differentiation between project-attached and projectless threads. This work improved the quality of product analytics data and established a foundation for future measurement of Codex usage patterns, with no major bugs reported during the period.
