April 2025: Focused effort on base-image reliability in oe-alliance-core. Key feature delivered: OpenHDF base image now includes tar as a runtime dependency and the openhdf-base recipe was bumped from r47 to r48 to ensure tar is available at runtime. The change is captured in a single, auditable commit (918a2fbaf257b5a01792371a16f9d76c0c0c3eee). No major bugs fixed this month; the emphasis was on stability and reliability of the base image, reducing runtime failures and speeding deployments. Impact: more robust images, fewer runtime issues, smoother provisioning, and easier maintenance. Technologies/skills demonstrated: Yocto/OpenEmbedded recipe maintenance, runtime dependency management, version pinning, and strong commit traceability.
