Worked on the shapeblue/cloudstack repository to stabilize and deliver snapshot-to-volume support for Linstor primary storage, focusing on backend reliability and data workflow enhancements. Addressed a critical bug by implementing direct snapshot-to-volume creation, adding new capabilities and driver logic in Java, and integrating these changes with the DataMotion service. Improved error handling by allowing exceptions to propagate for accurate failure reporting, and ensured compatibility with existing template creation flows by conditionally enabling features based on storage configuration. Validated the solution end-to-end using unit testing and cloud storage management techniques, successfully restoring large database snapshots and maintaining robust cleanup processes.
