Worked on enhancing proxy handling in the dgtlmoon/changedetection.io repository by upgrading the ProxyFix middleware configuration to improve identification of client request origins behind remote reverse proxies. Focused on backend development and middleware configuration using Python, the update refined how forwarded headers are processed, resulting in more accurate logging, metrics, and access control decisions. This technical approach addressed challenges with request misattribution and strengthened the security posture of the application. No major bugs were reported during the period, and the work contributed to ongoing maintenance, supporting the stability and reliability of the web development stack for future analytics and troubleshooting.
