Addressed a crash that occurred when writing to the VDEC_SOC_WRAP_TOP_4 register, which previously led to MD5 checksum mismatches and inconsistent test outcomes. The solution involved updating the binary firmware, ensuring greater integrity and traceability by linking the fix to a specific commit for easier audits and rollbacks. Applied expertise in firmware development and binary languages to deliver a targeted bug fix, enhancing both the maintainability of the codebase and the consistency of automated firmware testing processes.
