Worked on Packit’s core repositories to deliver features and reliability improvements focused on Fedora and OpenSUSE integration, release workflows, and developer experience. Implemented Fedora alias expansion using the fedora-distro-aliases library and introduced Open Build Service integration with a new CLI command in packit/packit. Addressed Python 3.6 compatibility in packit/specfile by removing the walrus operator and improved release preparation by correcting specfile parsing. Enhanced CI/CD pipelines and documentation, including clarifying local TMT test execution. Used Markdown and YAML for documentation and configuration, leveraging GitHub Actions to streamline workflows and ensure maintainability across both feature development and bug fixes.
July 2025 focused on improving local testing visibility and release readiness for the Packit/packit repository by updating the CHANGELOG to clarify that TMT tests can be run and validated locally without creating a PR or release. This change lowers the barrier for developers to verify changes locally, speeding up feedback cycles and QA readiness. The update is low risk and well-documented in the changelog with a direct commit reference.
