In June 2025, Leong Ng upgraded the Apache Beam SDK to version 2.65.0 in the GoogleCloudPlatform/DataflowTemplates repository, focusing on enhancing runtime stability and compatibility across data processing templates. This work involved a non-breaking dependency update using Java and Maven, ensuring that no user-facing changes were introduced while aligning the project with the latest Beam improvements. Leong validated the upgrade with existing test suites to maintain release quality and minimize risk. By modernizing the core dependency, Leong positioned the template library for easier future maintenance and feature development, demonstrating a methodical approach to long-term project sustainability.
