Worked on the hpde/NASA repository to enhance data quality and metadata governance for NASA datasets, focusing on improving dataset consistency and integrity. Addressed a metadata bug by normalizing DOIs to lowercase, correcting catalog and display data descriptions, and aligning dataset identifiers with current naming conventions. Utilized XML for direct metadata edits and applied data curation and management skills to remove outdated files and obsolete metadata entries. Maintained clear traceability through disciplined version control practices. These efforts reduced data description drift, improved governance compliance, and increased trust in downstream analytics by ensuring consistent metadata and naming across the dataset ecosystem.
