During February 2025, L.F. Bougher focused on enhancing data quality and metadata governance for the hpde/NASA repository. They addressed inconsistencies in dataset descriptions by normalizing DOIs to lowercase, correcting catalog and display data entries, and aligning dataset identifiers with current naming conventions. Using XML for metadata management and data curation, L.F. Bougher removed outdated metadata files and updated key mappings to improve data integrity and searchability. All changes were tracked with disciplined version control, ensuring traceability and compliance with governance standards. This work reduced data description drift and strengthened downstream analytics by maintaining consistent, reliable metadata across NASA datasets.
