During a two-month period, Zhaoze contributed to the apache/rocketmq repository by focusing on backend reliability and high-availability stability. He addressed critical bugs in Java, using Maven and unit testing to improve error handling in controller address management and enhance logging for better observability. Zhaoze’s work included refining the scanAvailableControllerAddresses method to reduce operational risk and prevent outages, as well as implementing fixes for HAService connection removal and DLedger message deletion under newer JDKs. By strengthening test coverage and ensuring safe data truncation, he improved data integrity and failover reliability, demonstrating depth in backend development and system robustness.
