During August 2025, Jian Liu focused on enhancing kernel networking stability in the geerlingguy/linux repository. He addressed a critical reliability issue by fixing a NULL pointer dereference in the smc_ib_is_sg_need_sync function, which previously posed a crash risk for software RoCE deployments. Working primarily in C, Jian applied his expertise in kernel development and bug fixing to improve the robustness and maintainability of the codebase.
