During July 2025, Liu Liu developed an accessibility-focused ESLint rule for the primer/eslint-plugin-primer-react repository. The rule, a11y-no-duplicate-form-labels, prevents the use of aria-label on TextInput components when a FormControl.Label is present within the same FormControl, addressing potential screen reader confusion and improving accessibility standards. Liu Liu’s work included writing comprehensive documentation, creating tests to ensure rule reliability, and integrating the rule into the recommended ESLint configuration. Utilizing JavaScript, React, and ESLint, Liu Liu delivered a well-scoped feature that enhances code quality and consistency for developers working with form components in the Primer design system.
