Worked on the GenomicDataInfrastructure/gdi-userportal-frontend repository to enhance the reliability of security workflows by addressing instability in weekly vulnerability scans. Focused on the CI/CD pipeline, the developer resolved a recurring issue by pinning the Trivy vulnerability scanner to version 0.69.3 within the YAML-based scan workflow. This approach ensured deterministic scan results, minimized false positives and negatives, and improved compliance with security baselines. The work demonstrated practical application of DevOps and security best practices, emphasizing version control and traceability. By stabilizing the vulnerability scanning process, the developer contributed to a more predictable and maintainable security posture for the project.
