Mateusz Los enhanced artifact provenance reliability in the oss-review-toolkit/ort repository by improving HTTP handling for provenance checks. He addressed scenarios where HEAD requests failed by implementing a fallback to GET, ensuring artifact probing could proceed even when servers did not support certain methods or returned not found errors. Additionally, he modified the logic to treat HTTP_MOVED_TEMP responses as successful, allowing the system to handle redirects more robustly. This work, completed using Kotlin and backend development skills, focused on increasing the success rate of provenance verification. The changes reflect a targeted, in-depth approach to improving reliability in backend workflows.
