Lou Hansen developed an elevator control system for the 1334Robotics/2025Reefscape repository, focusing on precise, repeatable positioning through multi-height presets and a lowering feature for safe home positioning. Using Java and command-based programming, Lou refactored the elevator command architecture to improve maintainability and extensibility, integrating new commands and constants for each preset level. The system was tightly coupled with operator input handling and updated SmartDashboard UI elements, providing real-time feedback and control. This work emphasized subsystem integration and constants management, resulting in a robust, maintainable solution that streamlines onboarding and supports future feature expansion within embedded robotics systems.

February 2025: Delivered Elevator Control System with Presets and Lowering in 1334Robotics/2025Reefscape. Implemented multi-height presets (L1-L4) with new commands and constants, integrated with operator inputs, and added lowering functionality to position 0. Performed a substantial refactor of elevator commands to enhance maintainability, and updated mappings/UI and SmartDashboard entries to reflect new capabilities. This work focuses on repeatable positioning, safer home positioning, and clearer operator feedback, enabling faster onboarding and future extensibility.
