Developed an enhancement for the systemd/systemd repository that automated Android device access by updating systemd USB rules. This work focused on device management and system configuration, leveraging systemd unit files to match USB interface class and subclass identifiers for Android Debug Bridge (ADB) and fastboot devices. By enabling out-of-the-box connectivity, the solution reduced setup time for Android development and streamlined the debugging process. The approach allowed seamless device recognition, improving the overall developer workflow without requiring manual configuration. The contribution demonstrated a targeted application of systemd and USB rule management to address a common pain point in Android development environments.
