During January 2025, Maddinat0r developed a DNS nameservers configuration feature for the homepage app within the truenas/apps repository. The work involved introducing a dns_nameservers variable to the questions.yaml configuration file, enabling users to specify custom DNS server IP addresses for the app’s network setup. This addition leveraged skills in configuration management and focused on YAML for defining flexible, user-driven network parameters. No major bugs were addressed during this period, and the scope was limited to a single feature. The work demonstrated a targeted approach to infrastructure configuration, providing a straightforward solution to enhance user control over network settings.
