Worked on the google/go-github repository to expand webhook event coverage, enabling enhanced security and governance workflows for downstream consumers. Developed new Go structs to support BranchProtectionConfigurationEvent and SecretScanningAlertLocationEvent, ensuring accurate JSON marshaling and unmarshaling for these event types. Focused on API integration and Go development, updating event type mappings to maintain both forward and backward compatibility with existing webhook handlers. Emphasized robust testing by implementing comprehensive unit tests for event handling and data serialization, which helped maintain high code quality and reliability. The work facilitated automation for policy enforcement and security monitoring without disrupting existing performance characteristics.
