Worked on the erlang/otp repository to enhance backend reliability and test stability, focusing on the dbg module. Addressed a critical bug where trace messages could be lost if the calling process exited prematurely, ensuring more robust message delivery. Improved error handling in the test suite by introducing try-catch blocks, which increased resilience against unexpected arithmetic errors. Tackled issues related to test failures caused by excessively long pathnames by truncating atom names to comply with system limits. Utilized Erlang for backend development, emphasizing error handling and comprehensive testing to align with business goals of stable tracing, reliable releases, and reduced maintenance costs.
