Worked on improving the reliability and environment consistency of PeerBanHelper by addressing startup issues related to Java version management. Focused on configuration management and system administration, the work involved updating the rc.d startup script to export the JAVA_VERSION variable and default it to 21 when unset, ensuring consistent runtime behavior across deployments. These changes, implemented using shell scripting, reduced startup failures and deployment risks by standardizing the environment. Updates also included correcting the packaging and work directory paths for the rc.d script within the PBH-BTN/PeerBanHelper repository, further supporting maintainability and alignment of deployment practices across different systems.
