During the month, contributed to the pmndrs/valtio repository by delivering a feature that relaxed snapshot immutability to improve compatibility with the Hermes JavaScript engine. This work involved removing the enforcement of Object.preventExtensions within the snapshot creation process, allowing for more flexible state management in React-based front end applications. Associated tests were updated or removed to reflect the new immutability policy, simplifying ongoing maintenance and aligning the library’s behavior with Hermes expectations. The contribution was co-authored and focused on JavaScript, leveraging expertise in state management and front end development to address a specific compatibility challenge within the codebase.
