Worked on the OpenLineage/OpenLineage repository, focusing on improving security and dependency management within the integration components. Addressed a specific Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) issue by upgrading the commons-lang3 dependency from version 3.14.0 to 3.18.0 in the Gradle build configuration. This targeted security patch reduced vulnerability exposure while maintaining API compatibility and ensuring all changes were validated through continuous integration. The work demonstrated careful dependency hygiene and a minimal-risk approach, with a single, auditable commit that preserved the stability of enterprise deployments. Utilized Gradle and security patching skills to enhance the project’s overall security posture.
