Worked on stabilizing the build process for the carla-simulator/carla repository, focusing on resolving a critical build failure that impacted developer onboarding and continuous integration reliability. Addressed an issue in the CarlaSetup script by modifying the build system configuration to prepend a 'v' to the CARLA_FASTDDS_VERSION, ensuring valid Git tag resolution for FastDDS dependencies. This fix, implemented using cmake and shell scripting, eliminated a blocker that previously prevented successful builds. The work prioritized reliability and maintainability over new feature development, resulting in a more deterministic setup process that streamlines onboarding and reduces maintenance overhead for future contributors and releases.
