Worked on the msys2/MINGW-packages repository to expand image format support in the Eye of GNOME (eog) application by introducing optional dependencies for AVIF, HEIF, and JXL formats. Leveraged Linux and shell scripting skills to integrate these modern formats through the gdk-pixbuf2 loader ecosystem, enabling runtime loading while maintaining a lightweight default installation. The approach encapsulated new functionality behind opt-in dependencies, minimizing disruption for users not needing these formats. Documented the rationale and usage context in commit notes to support maintainers and future updates, ensuring compatibility with eog’s image loading flow and improving user versatility in GNOME environments.
