In July 2025, Benedikt Bauer enhanced the coder/trivy repository by developing License Scan Filtering by Package Type, a feature that allows users to target license scans to either OS packages, language-specific packages, or both. Using Go and focusing on CLI development and software design, Benedikt implemented logic to distinguish package types during scanning, thereby improving compliance accuracy and reducing irrelevant scan results. He also updated the documentation with practical usage examples to facilitate adoption in CI pipelines. This work addressed governance needs by enabling more precise license checks, streamlining review processes, and demonstrating depth in both technical implementation and documentation.
