Worked on the mealie-recipes/mealie repository to address a critical issue affecting user-generated content during data import. Delivered a targeted bug fix that ensures recipe notes are preserved when importing JSON files, thereby maintaining data integrity and preventing loss of valuable user information. The solution involved backend development in Python, with a focus on robust unit testing to validate the workflow and safeguard against regressions. Collaborated closely with other engineers through co-authored commits and thorough code review processes, reinforcing code quality standards. This work improved the reliability of the import process and reduced potential support issues related to data loss.
