
During October 2025, Unrath contributed to the PolicyEngine/policyengine-us repository by integrating the 2015-2016 Federal Poverty Guidelines data into WIC eligibility and benefit calculations. This work involved extending the eligibility logic and benefits computation to accommodate new data points, ensuring accurate income-based determinations. Unrath applied skills in data management, policy analysis, and testing, using yaml to structure and manage the updated datasets. Comprehensive tests were developed and executed across various regions and household sizes, supporting scalable policy updates. The depth of the implementation addressed both data integration and robust validation, resulting in a maintainable and extensible eligibility calculation framework.
