Developed and integrated support for the Ruijie RG-EW1300G router within the DragonBluep/openwrt repository, focusing on the ramips MT7621A platform. The work involved creating device-tree entries, configuring network interfaces, and partitioning firmware to enable full OpenWrt operation on the device. Leveraging expertise in Linux kernel and device driver development, the implementation documented hardware components such as MT7615 WiFi and MT7530 Ethernet, and established a robust installation process using UART bootloader access and TFTP-based image loading. All changes were contributed in C, expanding OpenWrt’s device coverage and providing end-to-end embedded systems support for industrial router deployment.
February 2026 monthly summary for DragonBluep/openwrt: Delivered Ruijie RG-EW1300G router support on the ramips MT7621A platform. Implemented device-tree entries, network interface configuration, and firmware partitioning to enable OpenWrt operation on the device. The work centers on a single primary commit (d8411793...) that documents MT7621A SoC, MT7615 WiFi radios, MT7530 Ethernet, and a 16MB flash layout including u-boot, factory, firmware, kernel, rootfs, and rootfs_data; integrated via OpenWrt PR 21864. Also defined a robust installation flow via UART bootloader, 57600 baud, and TFTP-based image loading for the ruijie_rg-ew1300g-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin. This work expands device coverage, accelerates deployment of industrial routers with OpenWrt, and demonstrates end-to-end hardware support from boot to firmware upgrade.
