Worked on the golemcloud/golem repository to enhance the desktop application's launch experience by implementing a splash screen that adapts to the user's system theme. Focused on frontend development using React, CSS, and TypeScript, the work involved optimizing the initial load process to reduce startup time and improve time-to-interaction. Addressed a theme switching glitch to ensure system preferences are reliably applied on startup, resulting in a smoother onboarding process for users. The technical approach emphasized seamless integration with system settings and efficient resource loading, contributing to a more responsive and visually consistent application experience from the moment of launch.
