During October 2025, M. Bruin enhanced observability for the CocoaPods/Specs repository by upgrading the New Relic agent to version 7.5.11. This work focused on improving monitoring capabilities and performance visibility, allowing for faster issue detection and more actionable dashboards within the Specs ecosystem. Bruin applied skills in dependency management and release engineering, ensuring that the upgrade was isolated to the Specs repository to minimize risk and maintain compatibility. The implementation involved validating the new instrumentation against existing dashboards and alerts, using Ruby as the primary language, and demonstrated a methodical approach to versioned dependency upgrades and instrumentation maintenance.
