During September 2025, Megmeehey enhanced the gradle/gradle repository by implementing support for cgroup v2 memory management in Linux environments. Using Groovy and Java, Megmeehey developed functionality to read memory usage and limits directly from cgroup v2 files, enabling Gradle to accurately monitor memory in containerized and cloud deployments. This backend development work improved the reliability of memory metrics for Gradle builds, particularly in modern CI/CD and containerized workflows. The update addressed compatibility gaps with cgroup v2, allowing for better resource visibility and performance tuning. The work demonstrated depth in system programming and careful integration with Gradle’s core infrastructure.
