Worked on the gravitational/teleport repository to deliver ambient credentials support for discovery, enabling cloud deployments to function without requiring explicit integration names. Refactored the tctl discovery command line interface in Go to support a multi-subcommand structure, improving usability and setting the foundation for future enhancements. Updated the EC2 watcher to remove mandatory IntegrationName checks, allowing discovery to operate seamlessly with AWS ambient credentials. Enhanced test coverage to ensure accurate status reporting in these scenarios and improved code maintainability by splitting discovery node wiring. Focused on backend development, AWS integration, and software architecture, with attention to code quality and extensibility.
June 2026 - Gravitational/Teleport: Delivered ambient credentials support for discovery and refactored the tctl discovery CLI to enable multi-subcommand structure. Removed mandatory IntegrationName checks in the EC2 watcher to enable discovery with ambient credentials, and updated tests to verify status reporting without an integration name. Also split the tctl discovery nodes wiring to improve maintainability and prepare for future enhancements. These changes reduce friction in cloud deployments, improve reliability of discovery, and set the stage for additional CLI capabilities.
