Worked on the woocommerce/google-listings-and-ads repository to deliver a performance-focused update centered on build engineering. Implemented a Webpack Bundle Splitting configuration that enforces a minimum chunk size for the commons bundle, directly addressing inefficiencies in incremental build speed and caching. This approach reduced unnecessary chunk creation, resulting in shorter continuous integration and build times, as well as more predictable deployments. The work primarily involved JavaScript and Webpack, with a focus on optimizing build hygiene rather than addressing bug fixes. The update contributed to faster release cycles and improved the overall efficiency of the build process for ongoing development and maintenance.
