Worked on enhancing diagnostics for the Company Bridge module in the companieshouse/ch.gov.uk repository, focusing on improving observability and issue remediation. Implemented Data::Dumper-based dumps to capture transaction objects during failed company lookups, and introduced warning emissions to surface lookup issues without disrupting normal operations. This backend development effort, using Perl and debugging instrumentation, enabled faster diagnosis and reduced mean time to resolution for lookup failures. The work emphasized safe warning patterns and robust error reporting, delivering value through improved transparency and maintainability. No major bug fixes were addressed during this period, as the primary focus remained on diagnostic feature development.
