During January 2026, Mikias contributed to the ava-labs/core-extension repository by developing a core feature enabling cross-chain transfers between Bitcoin and BTCB. He implemented a user interface in React and TypeScript that allows users to initiate bridging transactions, view estimated bridging times, and receive clear error feedback. The work involved integrating the new bridging logic with existing cross-chain modules using Node and JavaScript, ensuring seamless operation within the extension’s architecture. Mikias collaborated closely with another developer to maintain code quality and prepared the feature for QA and staging. This addition expanded the extension’s capabilities and improved the overall user experience.
