During November 2024, Minijackson focused on improving NetBox upgrade reliability within the srid/nixpkgs repository, addressing issues related to static file management on NixOS. By enhancing the upgrade workflow to clear outdated static files using collectstatic --clear, Minijackson ensured that UI artifacts and object relations remained consistent after upgrades. The solution leveraged symlink-based change detection to trigger upgrade checks when configurations or plugins changed, prompting users as needed. This work demonstrated skills in NixOS configuration, DevOps, and scripting with Nix, resulting in more reliable upgrades, reduced misconfigurations, and easier maintenance for system operators. The work showed thoughtful depth and practical impact.
