Worked on backend development for the factcast/factcast repository, focusing on improving the stability and efficiency of aggregate snapshot retrieval. Addressed a memory and CPU overhead issue by refactoring the retrieval logic to use orElseGet in Java, ensuring the initial aggregate state is only created when necessary. Enhanced system observability by correcting a trace log message, which improved monitoring accuracy. Additionally, optimized fallback logic to increase reliability and reduce latency during failure scenarios. No new user-facing features were introduced during this period, with efforts concentrated on targeted bug fixes and performance improvements using Java and backend engineering best practices.
