In June 2025, Mofrim contributed to the Shopify/nixpkgs repository by upgrading core dependencies to enhance system stability and user experience. Focusing on package management and system configuration, Mofrim updated libcava to version 0.10.4 and advanced Waybar to an unstable release, ensuring access to recent usability fixes. The technical approach involved precise revision pinning for Waybar’s source fetch and temporarily disabling installation checks to accommodate the unstable build, balancing reproducibility with early feature access. Working primarily with Nix, Mofrim’s changes were delivered through two targeted commits, reflecting a careful, incremental approach to dependency management without introducing user disruption.
