Worked on the firebase/firebase-android-sdk repository to enhance pseudonymous ID handling within the Firebase Android transport runtime. Focused on propagating updated pseudonymous IDs across the event pipeline, this work improved the consistency and reliability of analytics data while maintaining user privacy. Leveraged Java and Android development skills to implement persistent callbacks and ensure that future events always carry the current ID. Developed integration tests to validate the interaction with PseudonymousIdUpdateReceiver, confirming end-to-end functionality and reducing the risk of stale IDs. Emphasized event-driven architecture and backend development practices to strengthen data transport reliability and privacy across Android sessions.
March 2026: Delivered a targeted improvement to pseudonymous ID handling in the Firebase Android transport, strengthening data transport reliability while preserving user privacy. Implemented propagation of updated pseudonymous IDs so that future events carry the current ID, with integration tests validating interaction with PseudonymousIdUpdateReceiver. This work reduces risk of stale IDs and increases consistency of analytics data across sessions.
