In May 2025, Mikko Partio enhanced the fmidev/helm-charts repository by improving Helm chart configurability and maintainability for Kubernetes deployments. He introduced an optional GRIB_OPTIONS parameter to the Helm job template, enabling more flexible GRIB file processing workflows. Using YAML and leveraging DevOps practices, Mikko updated Chart.yaml to include current maintainer information and added a global section in values.yaml to satisfy linter requirements. These changes established stable defaults for environment, prodType, and cloud, improving deployment flexibility and CI reliability. Mikko’s work focused on clear ownership, traceability, and robust configuration management, addressing both operational and quality requirements.
