Worked on the laravel/wayfinder repository to enhance domain URL handling within the application, focusing on improving reliability and consistency in how domains are extracted and processed. Utilized PHP and back end development skills to implement a more robust domain method that strips HTTP and HTTPS protocols and correctly manages forcedRoot scenarios. The approach involved targeted, minimal code changes aimed at normalizing URLs, reducing edge-case failures, and ensuring cleaner downstream processing. This work laid the foundation for future features by establishing a consistent method for domain extraction, ultimately improving the maintainability and reliability of URL handling in the codebase.
