
Worked on the bkeepers/signalk-server repository to enhance device identification and provider configurability for canbus integrations. Developed a feature that introduces optional Manufacturer Code (MfgCode) support, allowing users to specify a code or rely on a default, and refactored UniqueNumber handling to ensure it is always a valid integer or randomly generated when necessary. This backend development effort, implemented in JavaScript, addressed challenges with source identification on devices lacking unique IDs, improving data provenance and interoperability.
