July 2025 monthly summary for newrelic/entity-definitions: Delivered OCI-related mappings and host metrics improvements that enhance data ingestion accuracy and reduce schema duplication. Implemented OCI Entity Mapping Enhancements for Ingestion Accuracy and consolidated OCI Host Metrics into the main host metrics definition, with refinements to synthesis rules and golden metrics. Refactored host synthesis by removing separate OCI compute agent definitions. These changes improved data quality, reliability of OCI ingestion, and simplified metrics schemas, enabling more accurate dashboards and reporting for OCI workloads.

June 2025: Delivered foundational OCI monitoring groundwork in the newrelic/entity-definitions repo, onboarding OCI entity definitions and metrics, defining golden tags, configuration, synthesis rules, and golden/summary metrics across multiple OCI services. Implemented refinements via changes to synthesis rules and golden metrics. In parallel, executed a controlled rollback to revert OCI entity definitions in staging due to test/stg overrides, removing YAML configurations for OCI Autonomous DB, OCI Database, OCI Database Cluster, OCI NoSQL, OCI Queue, and OCI VCN to maintain stability. Overall, established a scalable OCI observability foundation while preserving staging integrity for validation and future rollout.
